StruSoft Teams up with OSA

As part of the StruSoft's product development plans, and to help reach new markets, the process of translating our software into other languages has begun. All of this will be achieved thanks to a new collaboration with the international consultancy firm, OSA (Office of Sustainable Architecture). This brilliant firm concentrates on integrating prefabrication and bio sustainability with industrialised architecture. They also have extensive knowledge of the precast market around the world, operating in both Spanish speaking countries and China. For this reason, the first task will be the translation of IMPACT into Spanish. Tradition for Precast To help with the first task is Xavier Ruivo, an architect based at OSA in Madrid. He spent a week in Sweden at our head office, learning all about the program with Business Unit Director of IMPACT, Peter Karlsson. When asked why Spain could be such a good market for StruSoft, Xavier explained; Because we have a tradition in precast and we like the texture and the design. We find it both very technical, and very artistic. But, at the same time, Spain needs to upgrade and get involved with software. By learning other tools, other ways of doing things, we can save a lot of money and time. OSA works with many different partners to be able to offer a complete solution for companies that want to start manufacturing concrete elements. IMPACT can work perfectly to support the process of the factory. As Peter Karlsson added; We will complement each other with our slightly different company profiles and add value to the customer, and hopefully take IMPACT to new markets. Peter Karlsson with Xavier Ruivo at our IMPACT office in Malmö New Markets, New Challenges What are the challenges of breaking a new market, in a new country? Xavier believes that first, IMPACT needs to get more of a Spanish vibe; Nordic countries work differently and mostly in English. We are old-fashioned and focussed on tradition, but this is obviously a very useful and flexible software. I can see it from both the architect and the precast factory's point of view, and I think it provides us with all the tools we need. Our collaboration is not just limited to Spain, however. OSA will also be assisting with the Chinese market. This is a big undertaking for the company, as so much is built in China using in-situ concrete. This differs vastly from Nordic countries, where the building style is much more industrialised. The process will begin with teaching and education on how our software can benefit the Chinese way of working.     Xavier with Adam Carlson, who will help Xavier if further questions arise about IMPACT. The 26-year-old architect goes home with fond memories of his week in Sweden; Swedish people are very easy-going, funny, outspoken, making you feel warm and welcomed. In every meeting I was overwhelmed to see how you've reached your goals. There are very smart and professional people working here, Xavier said. When back in Madrid, Xavier will begin work on customising everything within the program; casting materials, all elements, shop drawings, and so on. He is looking forward to it, and underlined how lucky he is to work at OSA with colleagues that are the best in their field. Their experience and knowledge will certainly make a big contribution when it comes to adapting the program for the Spanish market. The goal is to make our programs available in more native speaking languages, and this is just the first step in a very exciting and challenging journey ahead.
