Prefab FE calculation workflows

Prefab wall analysis do not have to be hard!

The behaviour of prefab wall systems is very different compared to cast-in-situ RC. Connections of elements are always a weak link in the structure. Connections also have very non-linear behaviour with ultimate loads. Correct models can be challenging to make. Analysis of wall systems with monolithic FE model principles does not necessarily lead to correct load takedown and can lead to an economically inefficient structure. What if more efficient methods and workflows could be used to handle this complexity?

FEM-Design offers a very unique set of tools and methods to handle prefab wall concrete analysis. Element connections are modelled unlike any other finite element software. FEM-Design also has workflows to allow capacity-based load takedown. All this can be done easily and automatically for you, including reporting. Foundation design can be designed based on new takedown. Challenging details can be handled with cracked concrete models with rebars. Also, hand-calculation-based methods for elements like wall columns, strips, and transfer beams are easy to perform.

Welcome to a free introduction webinar about prefab wall element workflows. This webinar is the first of a webinar series on RC wall systems and element design.

Why you should participate:

  • Learn methods to define RC wall systems and their connections
  • Learn about a unique Finite element solver customised to wall stability problems
  • Workflows for capacity-based distribution
  • Learn Hand calculation-based methods
  • Introduction to cracked models and linear approximation methods

Join Joni Hytönen for a practical, example-driven session that will give you the know-how to integrate prefab elements seamlessly into your FEM-Design projects.
