StruSoft invites you to attend this 1-day course in FEM-Design 3D Structure focusing on stability of a precast concrete structure.

The course is aimed for existing users of FEM-Design, or people who have participated in the introduction course, who wants to learn more about load takedowns and stability calculations of larger structures in FEM-Design.

If the user doesn’t have a license StruSoft will provide a temporary course license. In that case StruSoft will need to prepare the license 48 hours in advance. For users that have the license and the program installed, no such preparation is needed.

Topics during the course:

  • Modelling of a structure containing steel, timber and concrete
  • Loads and load combinations
  • Verification and checking the model
  • Analysis of the load bearing structure with regards to reaction forces, section forces and deformations.
  • Introduction to finite elements in FEM-Design
  • Introduction to the documentation module
  • Modelling of an office building using prefabricated concrete elements and steel beams/columns
  • Effective load management
  • Modelling of precast concrete, including prestressed hollowcores and precast walls with special boundary conditions
  • Checking the modelling with Correct model
  • Theoretical background to the finite element method
  • Restraining forces including shrinkage
  • Load takedown
  • Introduction to stability analysis calculations

The course is set for a full day (7.5 hours incl. 1 lunchbreak and two shorter breaks) and is held as an online course. The users will be modelling using their own computers, and the course will be held as a Teams-meeting. The users will also use their own licenses for FEM-Design 3D Structure and FEM-Design Concrete Design.

The course is held online (Invitation to the course meeting is sent in using Teams)

Preparations before the course:
Register atleast 48 hours before the starting time of the course. Verify that you have the correct licenses, if not contact fredrik.lagerstrom@strusoft.com for a course license.

Install the latest version of FEM-Design 3D Structure using StruSoft Installer.

In the course fee a course documentation in English is provided. We reserve ourselves for changes in the course content and date for the course. Cancelations can be done free of charge up to 15 days before the course, after that 50% of the fee will be charged unless an agreement between the customer and StruSoft exists.

Cancellation must be written, either sent to the course administrator or to info@strusoft.com.

Payment needs to be done within 30 days from the course date.

Registration: Please provide a referencenumber for the invoice if your company needs it. If it is not provided an extra fee for late invoicing might be invoked.

Verification of course registration will be sent by email and are administrated manually and will be sent to you as soon as possible.

By registering for the course, participants authorise StruSoft to record the course for distribution of the recording to other participants. StruSoft provides a link to each participant to a course recording. This link may not be distributed without the written consent of the course leader and all other course participants. Individual recordings of the course are prohibited, both for private and commercial use.
