Calculate the climate footprint of buildings with FEM-Climate
We are pleased to present our web application for climate calculations of FEM-Design models, FEM-Climate. We will go through how FEM-Climate works step by step during the webinar and demonstrate different usage scenarios. We will also explain the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning’s new requirements for climate declarations and discuss how we view the designer’s role in this context.
We want to help you keep track of your building’s carbon footprint throughout the design. Therefore, the app investigates and evaluates alternatives quickly, and the building’s total climate footprint is calculated and reported with a few keystrokes. It is also possible to download a more detailed climate declaration in Excel format.

“In my previous job as a designer, I lacked awareness of the climate impact in my daily work. I think there is a lot to be gained if the idea of climate impact permeates the design process.” – Johanna Riad, Automated Workflow Specialist
“We have been able to build this app thanks to the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning’s open climate database and FEM-Design API. We connect two tools that we hope will create something so simple and user-friendly that everyone has time (2 minutes) to understand the building’s climate impact.” – Alexander Radne, Parametric Designer
